Let the Culture Extend Happily in the Garden City
“成都在悠长的岁月中留下了无数历史的痕迹，我们细心寻拾这些文化，将时光拼贴起来——安仁民国岁月、平乐茶马铃音、龙池深山幽谷、西来禅茶佛意……不同的文化、不同的时光，使我们时时思考当代人对这些文化物质载体继承的意义，品味其中蕴藏的灵魂。”作品分为三个板块（建筑与文化、建筑与自然、建筑与民生），以及一个附属板块（建筑与未来），内容包含：宽窄巷子、安仁古镇、平乐古镇、西来古镇、五凤古镇、龙池小镇、三岔湖等项目。

The passing time has left innumerable historical traces on Chengdu. When we carefully pick up these cultural relics and put up a jigsaw of time, the Republic of China years of Anren, Pingle’s tea convoys, Longchi’s deep valleys, and the Xilai Zen Buddhist tea rituals… all these different cultural nuggets from different times have prompted us to reflect on the meanings conveyed by these cultural, material media, and the spirituality therein. The work is divided into three sections (architecture and culture, architecture and nature, architecture and living), and an appendix section (architecture and the future), which includes narrow and broad lanes, Anren Old Town, Pingle Old Town, Xilai Old Town, Wufeng Old Town, Longchi Old Town and Lake Sancha.

每个人的都江堰
Every Person's Dujiangyan
始于公元前256修筑的都江堰水利工程，作为“天府之国”成都平原的原点，都江堰的城市记忆正是一部人与自然和谐的历史。在2008年“512”大地震之后都江堰灾后重建的这一段经历，在全国全世界的支持与见证下，在每一个都江堰人的共同参与下，重新谱写了这座人与自然共同分享的城市篇章。

Starting from the Dujiangyan Irrigation Infrastructure built in 256 BC, as the starting point of the “Heavenly Kingdom” (“tian fu zhi guo”), the collective memory of Dujiangyan city is also a history of coherence between humans and nature. After the 5/12 earthquake in 2007, with the support from across the nation as well as the whole world, every citizen of the city worked together, witnessed, participated in relief construction, and contributed to the achievement of rebuilding the harmony between humans and the nature.

Garden in City，Chengdu in World
作品紧扣成都建设“世界现代田园城市”的历史定位与长远目标，以“田园城市，世界成都”为展示主题，按照“城乡”、“承载”、“成就”三个关键词分单元系统介绍成都近年来的规划及其实施成效，多案例阐释成都落实新发展战略的具体行动。“城乡”单元主要展示成都自2003年来城乡统筹发展的规划实践。“承载”单元主要展示成都在城乡统筹发展进程中所传承的文化本底与生态本底，以及2009年发展战略提升之际全市人民的美好期盼。“成就”单元主要展示成都城乡统筹发展取得的成绩。

Works exhibited in this Biennale are divided into three units: “Urban and Rural” unit, “Bearing Capacity” unit and “Achievements” unit, under the overall theme of “Garden in City, Chengdu in World” The “Urban and Rural” unit is mainly about the urban rural coordination practices in Chengdu since 2003. The “Bearing Capacity” unit exhibits the cultural and ecological background Chengdu inherits in the urban rural coordination process and the vision of the whole city for when the new development strategy was put forward in the end of 2009. The “Achievements” unit shows the achievements gained during these years.

仓廪实，知礼节——粮仓里的狂欢
Only at Times of Plenty will the People Observe the Rituals: "Granary's Carnival"
洛带艺术粮仓位于成都龙泉驿区洛带古镇，身处川西客家文化的独特氛围，在保留原有粮仓的基础上改造加建为以艺术为主题的综合商业街区，包括了博物馆、商业、餐饮、旅馆、艺廊等多种业态。设计以粮仓文化为主题，结合原有建筑衍生为独特的建筑形态，同时参考古镇的空间尺度，重在塑造有特色的街区形象和文化传承的实体，体现了客家文化植入融合的主题。

The project, located at Luodai town, Longquanyi district, Chengdu, is surrounded by the unique Hakka culture of western Sichuan. The design concept includes two parts. Firstly, we try our best to remain the original form of the art granary. In the meantime, under a commercial theme, the art granary is transformed to be a commercial street, which will contain museums, a commercial district, restaurants, hotels, art galleries, and so on. Under the theme of the art granary's culture, combining this with the existing building and proportions of the space, architects try to create a unique building form. Meanwhile, the design also tries to achieve characteristics of a commercial street and inherit native culture.

创意与田园 – 兴城公司成果展
Creativity vs. Garden
作品从“创意、社会关照”两个角度介绍兴城公司在城市运营中的角色，以这两个概念来深化和补充成都的现代田园城市总体地位；兴城开发的东部新城汇集了多种现代都市冲突与机遇，提案将对400米超高层建筑、十陵历史景区、新客站及创意产业园之间所形成的张力进行研究和展示。

This proposal takes the “creativity” and “social responsibility” angles to define the role of Xingcheng Corporation with Chengdu’s urban development. These two concepts will contribute to the furthering of Chengdu’s garden city strategy; the East Town sees the concentration of multiple urban conflicts and opportunities. This proposal will demonstrate the tension between various elements within this region.

水绿共生
Integration of Water and Green
参展作品以山、水、田、林、城为主题元素，通过装置艺术、静态图像及动态多媒体展示，结合现场互动的手法，以五个参展项目——成都市人民南路区域综合整治，成华区二环路现代服务业发展轴概念规划及区域综合治理设计，都江堰实践群，双流东升城市公园及锦里二期-水岸锦里为载体分别介绍了对于实现水绿共生、构筑世界田园城市缩影的各类具体实践。

The work entered for the competition features mountain, water, field, forest and city as the themed elements. By way of installation, static imagery and dynamic multimedia demo, compounded with interactions on-site, we try to introduce the various practices that help to realize the symbiosis of water and greenery in the construction of a Modern International Garden City through five projects, Chengdu Renmin Road South Regional Overhaul, Chenghua District Second Ring Road Modern Services Development Axis Plan and Regional Overhaul, Dujiangyan Practice Groups, Shuangliu Dongsheng Urban Park and Jinli Phase II – Waterfront Jinli.

由成都青羊城乡建设发展有限公司打造的“中国成都非物质文化遗产博览园”项目集文化传承、公共活动激发、城市地区开发于一体，历时3年建成，是世界上最大的非遗文化主题园区。而其中“西城事”组团作为满足园区文化展示、室内观演、休闲集会、餐饮辅助等多种功能为一体的片区，由多家建筑事务所通过集群设计的方式共同打造而成，各家事务所通过不同的手法对传统中国建筑文化进行解读，并实现经典建筑语言的当代化转译。

As the world's biggest intangible cultural heritage theme park, "Chengdu Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition in China" built by the Chengdu Qingyang Suburb Construction＆Development Co., Ltd, has developed over three years, contributing to cultural transmission, stimulating public activity, and developing the urban area. Between this area, "West City Story" addresses the park's function as a cultural showcase, with an interior performance space, assembly area, leisure areas, catering, and other functions. It is designed by a cluster of construction firm which through different ways interpret and implement Chinese traditional architectural culture to improve the architectural language of translation.
