nomad大人，愚山大哥：

Paul Walker主持的硕士班黑头发的很多，但都不是华人，以东南亚居多，至少真正严格来说来自中国的oversea student屈指可数，还已包括一位同济毕业已拿PR的前辈。酷毙或漂亮的自然不如愚山兄了，哈哈。

申请大学对本科期间的GPA要求高不高应该视不同学校不同要求的，也必然会看专业课的成绩。除了语言和MONEY外具体的要求...带个好使的脑袋就成。

小弟初来咋到，但nomad兄的广闻博见与敬业精神委实让我佩服不已，没有什么见面礼却只有几个问题烦劳大人指点：
1，本人国内五年制建筑学本科毕业，工作三年后意欲澳洲求学，现于家中苦读英语，虽雄心万丈却不知究竟哪所学校才是我的目标？以大人您之见似乎只有RMIT,UNSW与MELBOURNE可以选择，不知还有没有其他的更多选择（本人经济实力有限本科成绩亦仅七十九，所以担心五星学校有困难，惭愧，惭愧！）。
2，不瞒您说，本人确实崇洋媚外（仅限学术与社会状况），移民是蓄谋已久（更是为了省点TUITION ），只是苦于国内本科学历恐难通过老外评估，不知将来的澳洲MASTER DEGREE对移民有否帮助？
3，所谓注册与移民有关吗？国内的一级注册国外显灵否？

再次衷心感谢NOMAD大人对洋务运动的REMARKABLE CONTRIBUTION!

请问各位：如果在unsw、悉尼大学、RMIT和墨尔本大学中选择读建筑学硕士，应该选择哪一个学校？我现在拿到了悉尼大学的OFFER,悉尼大学的建筑学是不是并不好呀？research是在读完coursework之后才去申请的吗？中介跟我说一开始申请的都是coursework，然后过去后自己再申请research，我半信半疑，不知哪位能为我指点迷津？万分感谢！

i think this is completely wrong! it is possible to apply for research masters degrees. you just need to know how to propose a research project.

there are already several posts on writing a research proposal. i have nothing to add on this issue.

Generally, it is very desirable to establish contact with prospective supervisors if you are applying for masters degree by research.

For masters degree by research, you should choose a specific supervisor, not a university. hehe! I had recommended several supervisors in previous posts.

   我查过Adelaide、Sydney、Melbourne都有master of Landscape Architecture。

You can go to Melbourne Univ. but don't go to Adelaide Univ. or Sydney Univ.

xixi! did you find out which teachers are working in Sydney Univ in this discipline, and did you find out what they have published?

Also, I don't think I said "don't go to Sydney Univ to do MArch", I simply asked you to read about the supervisors I had recommended.

xixi, there is no perfection in Australia. i think graduates have found it easy to get permanent residence here. people with poor english language ability find it difficult to get jobs. the job market is linked to the economy of course, so it changes.

If you wish to go to the best MArch program in Australia, go to Melbourne University and study with Paul Walker. UNSW and Sydney Univ. will gradually improve their MArch programs in the next few years, but at present, I would like to recommend Melb Univ as the first choice.

确实墨大的学费不低，所以出国需要各方面考虑一下.急也急不出来。据说悉大现在不太好，所以OFFER发得很快。
希望不必太高，要找工作不容易那些会计、IT找不到比比皆是。如果你刚毕业的话可以考虑读本科，也许对以后的发展更有利。

看到此贴，为各位战友计，几句肺腑之言：adelaide大学是没什么意思的，nomad斑竹说的很明白了，他在这方面我相信是很权威的了（没有拍马屁的成分！），我就是从那间转到unsw的。和我一起转的还有2个人，一个想转没成功。学术方面我不敢班门弄斧，但是生活上adelaide和悉尼也属天壤。adelaide很适合老年人居住，节奏慢，就象一曲摇篮曲，而悉尼是进行曲了。赫赫，也许有点夸张，但是我觉得出国不光是读书，还要接触外面的世界，经历种种，对以后会有大大帮助。悉尼是国际大都市，这方面我不需要多说了，俗一点说：adelaide闷死了！！！！！嗬嗬
再有，我觉得老师固然重要，自己的资质和努力才是根本。nomad说的那几间大学，随便哪间都很不错，nothing is perfect，我出来好几年了，也许体会比国内的各位深一些。经验之语，廖以参考。见笑！

xixi! there is no degree called Master of Landscape, only MLArch (anyway it is only a name). You need to check Melb Univ's web site, of course. (Yes, you need to do your homework.)
