 Attention!!!!!!!! Attention!!!!!!!! every Chinese archi-student in Melbourne There is going to be a big architectural festival next week from 21st April to 24th. Exchange 2005, RAIA conference http://www.architecture.com.au/exchange2005/ Lots of famous stars will com. Peter Cook, no need to intro Ian Mcdougall, partner of my favourite Melbourne archi company, ARM Peter Davidson, from Lab. No need to mention Federation Square. He got a billion dollar contract now in Beijing now. Hrvoje Njiric, young star from Salvia. He got hotter and hotter every since EL published his monograph. Do you know how to pronounce his name? If not, ask local students, otherwise you are out of dated as an archi student. And the biggest one Yong He Chang Zhang yang he. Chinese architects’ greatest honour. Our future MIT Archi school Dean! But the bigger dinner belongs to the rich. Almost impossible to afford such expensive tickets. But I guess there will be some free activities and exhibitions. Just have a look. I will try to figure out Zhang‘s hotel. I am really a big fan of him now. Once I got it, I will publish or anyone get it, tell me. |

some usefully information about the : australian and new zealand archicture school --转-- a debatable but fair assessment would be: RMIT - considered the most progressive, most varied school of architecture in australia, with a good reputation for strong designers. the graduate program being directed by mark burry - SIAL, is of international standard, and has a unique take on new techniques and technologies. Uni Melbourne - again, a good school, with good quality graduates, but no longer considered to be leading in any particular direction. very competent, but not setting any new discourses. Uni Queensland - a good school, with good range of tutors. fair range of project work and reasonable work ethic. well connected to local scene, and some good contacts internationally. Uni Technology Sydney - the one school marking a new direction. with the addition of andrew benjamin to the school, and contacts with ross gibson and others, the school has been re-energised and looks likely to have a much stronger influence on architecture and education in australia. a lot of potential and the ability to do some exciting new work. Uni Sydney - headed by tom heneghan. a dead end school. heneghan came to the school as an enlightened saviour and has done nothing to change the old guard or give any new direction to the school. boring and mostly irrelevant. Uni New South Wales - competent and moderately interesting school. good range of tutors and very connected to the competent practices in sydney. large school, with decent facilities. Queensland Uni Technology - good school, with some dedicated and interesting tutors. very different atmosphere to UQ. trying to provide a clear alternative to UQ. Deakin Uni - located south of melbourne, in geelong, the school struggles to define itself against RMIT and UMelb. seen as a good place for students not ready to be in the city. Uni Western Australia - located in perth, a good mid-range school, with some long-serving tutors who still give a good intro to architecture. an interesting alternative to melbourne and sydney. Curtin Uni - also in perth. modest work. doesn't make much impression except in local context. as usual, some good students, but more to do with individuals, than the school. Uni Tasmania - school of architecture is located in launceston, not hobart. most students that attend are interested in its isolation and relationship to timber, landscape and the environment. some quite good tutors, but still remote. Uni South Australia - no real information. |

我是学结构的，本科生。有5年房地产公司工程管理工作经验。我想到澳洲学建筑设计和城市规划设计？有几个问题需要请教？ 1）因为没有建筑学的基础知识，如果直接读Master能否入学？ 如果入学了，学习起来是否很累，或者学不到什么真正的本领？ 2) 我可否申请读本科？ 如果读本科？ 如何申请？是否有点浪费时间？ 3) 建设设计的那个学校比较强。 |

nomad大哥： 你好！关注这个帖子已经很久了不过从来没发过帖！自己也在网上查了很多关于澳洲学校建筑设计和城市规划方面的内容，这里有几点疑问希望能够在你这里得到解答！～ 我本科学城市规划专业，我所了解到的澳洲学校开设该有关课程的好一点的有unsw，rmit和melb uni！ unsw的中方代表到我们学校开讲座的时候正好有个熟人介绍我们认识，我和她做在一起把我的基本情况说了一下，她的意思说我申请unsw一点问题都没有，可是她并不了解我们专业的情况！再说就是unsw的课程听一个师哥说是一年三学期，有一个summer 学期，所以总的说是学一年，学费是大约１８万rmb！（好贵啊） rmit的建筑设计是很好的，可就是不太清楚他的城市设计和城市规划专业如何，上面你们也很少谈到rmit的城市规划方面！rmit的城市规划专业是research course，相对来说他的学费要便宜多，但是好象是学两年！我问过师哥他说这个并不适合我，要写论文做研究的，而且入学门槛比较高！ 我想问的问题是： １.unsw的学期是一年，我可不可以延长到１.５年完成！他的城市规划要求有作品集吗？因为有的学校城市规划对作品集是不要求的！ ２.rmit的城市规划专业如何呢？他的research course到底是学什么内容（很迷惑），申请的时候需要有作品集吗？ 谢谢你 |

请教Nomad先生：） 久闻先生大名，在系里有过几面之缘，但一直未能请教！小女子今年大五即将毕业，半年前也已开始了申请，在此想请教先生有关澳洲方面的问题： 1。澳洲的学校我递了Mel. Uni.和UNSW,都是by research,但MEL分design和thesis,我选择了disign，希望还是能和disign结合起来做，而UNSW未分，不知是否有什么区别？ 2。我的RP写了关于Typology与 Architecture&Urban Design之间的设计分析研究，不知topic是否太大？可否给些意见？另先生可否依题在MEL和UNSW推荐我几位老师，可与之讨论，不慎感激！PS:）特别是UNSW,老师介绍似乎都不予分类。 版中各位大侠，望不吝赐教，先谢过！ |

为什么看了澳洲建筑院校的排名和研究气氛都是uni queensland排在第一 而在这个论坛上大学好象都谈到meb uni，rmit，unsw 好象很少提到uni queensland 为什么啊 ？ |
