      想当初申请学校的时候，到处找不到Berlage的资料，找到也是N年前的老东西了=。=// 现今在这里义务介绍下，希望对想申请这里的同学有所帮助。 Berlage Institute之前是在阿姆斯特丹的，但前好几年就搬来鹿特丹了，所以别信网上搜索到的阿姆斯特丹什么的。。。那是过旧的信息了。。。 先介绍一下荷兰吧~ 不用说荷兰的建筑了，近几年是十分的强大啊~原因，我觉得是因为那句话： “如果说有一个欧洲国家在全国和地方的层次上继续维持一种反思性建筑实践的话，这就是荷兰。” ——《现代建筑：一部批判的历史》Kenneth Frampton 荷兰的几大城市到处都藏匿着大师的作品，从老的到新的~无所不有。。。厉害！ 我最后之所以没选AA这样的学校，不仅是因为英国的学制太短，另一个更重要的原因就是，在这里你可以十分方便的畅游欧洲大陆。。。英伦小岛就没这戏了~ 再简单介绍一下鹿特丹： 荷兰的第二大城市 二战时候被炸平（据说只炸了烂建筑，因为好的都保留下来了） 几年前算是世界第二的大港口 现在不行了。。。 鹿特丹是一个不太像欧洲城市的欧洲城市 有很多新建筑 所以这里被评为2007年的 City of Architecture 原因很多~主要的有三个： 一是这里有很多牛叉的事务所，比如OMA, MVRDV等 二是这里有不少好建筑 三是这里有很好的建筑知源，比如NAi, Berlage Institute等 这里交通方便，生活也还不错~物价不算高的~总的来说，是十分适合建筑学深造的~~TUDelft也就在半小时火车之外~呵呵~本人感觉鹿城比代村好啊~哈啊哈~SK别拍砖哈=。= （更新中。。。）

Berlage Institute 的基本资料大家可以到官网去看~历史啊什么的~ 简单说来就是上个世纪90年代初，荷兰的建筑师（主要是Herman Hertzberger，和美国的(=。=)Kenneth Frampton）这些人想建立一个以建筑、城市研究为主的建筑研究机构，作为荷兰建筑不同于Delft结构主义学派的新的发展方向(在当时)，事实也证明了这个机构的成功，短短十几年，发展成为世界一流高等建筑院校之一。（学校最初是在Amsterdam，后来因为发展需要和Rotterdam的崛起，把阵地转移到了这里。鹿特丹确实也更适合建筑学习。） 期间Rem Koolhass和Winy Maas在这里执教并与之共同完成其事务所的研究，让这里的研究水平达到很高的层次。比如《KM3》和《FiveMinutesCity》这样的研究出版物，就是在这样的情况下出来的。实际上像OMA和MVRDV这样的事务所他们需要研究，也需要人力来研究（因为事务所的人都在忙项目啊。。。），跟Berlage这种合作就成了自然而然的事情。。。

下面是课程介绍，是根据我现在的课程来写的~能大概说明问题 主要分四门课程： 1.理论课程 Projective Theory （射影理论，可以大概理解为：历史社会政治经济文化哲学等在城市上的射影，再缩小小到单个建筑上的表现） 由3-4个Tutor带，分支成3到4门课； Lieven De Cauter 讲政治经济这方面，题目是：《The Archipelago and The Ubiquitous Periphery》翻译为“群岛与普遍存在的外围”，这个需要意会。。。表达的是割裂与统一，单独存在与相互依赖关系的意思。。。意会。。。 Lieven是个很有热情（或者说激情）的人，很有名气。有兴趣的可以Google一下他~(*^__^*) 嘻嘻…… Roemer v. Toom 主要讲社会，当今社会和社会发展趋势，主要研究Modernity和Individualization。具体讲来，19世纪到20世纪60年代，世界处于First Modernity时期；1960s到1990s是Post Modernity的时代；而从1990s至今，我们正在进行Second Modernity，表现有Globalization，Market State，Informational... Individualization是正在悄然进行的社会变革，从家庭开始。。。 Miguel Robles Duran 主讲哲学和“capitalism的邪恶本质”哈哈~，题目是：《Unequal Urbanities and Capital Accumulation》翻译过来就是：不平衡的城市化和资本的积累。。。不得不说，Miguel是个很有才的人，完全的communism者（不好意思~这两个词都写了英文，因为中文的不让显示=。=），把《资本论》当圣经一样拿在手里。。。他同时也是今年另一个设计课程Caracas Project的Major Tutor，Berlage的PhD，认识他才知道，原来PhD是这种深度。。。 Thomas AP van Leeuwen 很绅士的老头子，主讲历史和文化，不知啥原因把他的课调到下半学期了=。=...之前上了两次他的课，其中一次是在建筑博物馆。。。听他讲Cuypers和Berlage实在是很有意思~很历史很文化！ 2.设计课程 Urban/Architecture Design 一个主要设计贯穿全学期，“设计内容多探讨现今都会发展的新方向，强调新设计策略及创意思潮的启发”。 一般是分为两个Studio，今年一个是Winy Maas带的The Bid2，就是我所在的Group；另一个就是刚才提到的Miguel带的Caracas Social Housing。 在这里的大部分时间都献给Studio了~基本每周一次Presentation，把这周做的给Major Tutor present，然后他会讲他的意见和下一部的方向。因为Major Tutor一般都比较牛叉，像Winy吧~一周基本就来一次，他实在太忙了。。。（据说MVRDV已经赶超OMA了。。。）不过Winy已经是很勤的了~~像他这种Level的大师能有几个还在教育一线这么卖命啊。。。难得啊。。。 每个Studio都有2-3个assistants，这些人有的是访问教授，有的是PhD，有的是事务所的建筑师。。。我们Studio因为Winy比较牛，有4个assistant tutors，一个是韩国来的访问教授，一个是Winy带的PhD，一个是MVRDV的建筑师，一个是Berlage的教授。。。Caracas组我只知道有个Jorge~他们基本每周每天都在，主要给我们解答一些疑惑，提供一些意见~但研究具体怎么做，全靠自己。。。 就像二年级的Eric跟我讲的，“你可能从你Groupmates身上学到的比从Tutor身上学到的还要多”~事实也正是这样。。。他们都是相当有想法，相当一部分也是很有经验的年轻建筑师，从23-31岁不等。。。其中就可能会有以后的大师哦~嘻嘻。。。 3.大师课程 Master Classes “聘请多位著名建筑大师，一起指导Studio课程，并举办多场演讲，深入了解大师思想，於一周内与学员共同完成设计，且发表作品。 ” 今次的大师是Inaki ábalos，一个西班牙的新星建筑师，已经进到Master的Class了。。。牛啊~~可以搜一下他的简介。课程是从12月10号开始，到时候要“快题”一周啊。。。像AA的summer school~不过我们的在冬天哈~ 4.Lectures 讲座 这个Berlage的又一个优势所在，基本每周都会有大师前来开讲座。对我们来讲，主要就是了解当今建筑界正在发生的事情，光看书已经跟不上信息发展的速度了，当面跟那个人谈谈才是王道！虽然可能信息来得又多又快不容易吸收，但是我们学校体贴地录下所有的讲座，以后可以慢慢回味。。。哈。。现在也可以去图书馆找出Zaha,Koolhass他们的讲座来看，很有意思的说~

好像么有。。。这个可以问下SK啊~不过我听说他们学校也没有。。。 不过如果真想来荷兰读建筑本科就学学荷兰文好了~~呵呵~ 不过去英国读本科还不错啊~来荷兰读硕士比较好，都用英文的说 |

贴一下学校的申请标准吧~其实主要还是看作品集 Who can apply To qualify for studying at the Berlage Institute, applicants must have completed a study in architecture, urban planning or landscape design at a University or Academy, or have equal qualifications. The postgraduate program of the Berlage Institute lasts two years. Application is possible for a minimum of one year. Application deadline The deadline for application to the year 2008-2009 is 31 January 2008 Application documents To apply to the Berlage Institute, please send us the following documents before 31 January 2008: 1. Completed application form 2. Three letters of recommendation 3. Portfolio showing representative examples of design work (academic and/or professional), publications, awards, etc. The portfolio should be printed; digital portfolios are not accepted 4. Written proposal that outlines your motives and objectives for doing research at the Berlage Institute 5. Certified copy of your architect's degree (Bachelor, Master or other relevant qualifcation) 6. Internationally acknowledged English language test (TOEFL or IELTS) result with the required scores (more information) 7. Financial statement 8. A recent passport photograph (which will also be used for your Berlage Institute ID-card) 9. Copy of (valid) passport (at least one year valid from the day of arrival) 10. A non-refundable application fee of ? 75,= (payable by bank transfer only to the Berlage Institute account (67.91.89.416) at the ING Bank in Amsterdam (IBAN NL 51 INGB 0679 1894 16). Selection procedure The Berlage Institute can accommodate a maximum of 30 first-year participants. An international advisory panel, assembled and chaired by the dean, reviews applications and makes the final selection. Panel members assess the applicant's work, focusing on aspects such as consistency and potential for further development. An essential criterion for selection is the written proposal, which must be clear and well argued. Please note that the applicant's financial situation is also taken into account. Applicants will be notified of the results of the selection committee approximately two months after the deadline of application. Tuition Fee Tuition for the year 2008-2009 (First Year) is ? 12.250,=. For 2009-2010 (Second Year) the tuition fee is also ? 12.250,=. The payment of the tuition fee is divided in two parts: After a positive result of the selection procedure, a non-refundable down payment of ? 2.250,= must be made to confirm participation, before 1 May 2008. Payment of the remaining part of the tuition fee for the First Year must be made before 15 August 2008. 晕菜，谁说delft是结构主义啊，TU delft啥方向都有，只要跟建筑和城市有关的我们都研究啊。。。汗。。。 只有herman hertzberger是结构主义学派啊，它也是TU在20世纪50年代的学生了。。。其实TU早在那时候也就diverse起来了，怎么能说TU是结构主义呢？后来出来的MVRDV, west 8等的出现也是很好的例子啊。。。 missallsunday啊，要说清楚啊，不然人家又误解了。汗，还是俺更正一下了。 噢，还有，Kenneth可不是荷兰建筑师，，，人家是brithish architecture critic，，，汗。。。

额。。严谨的SK..我知道Kenneth是美国滴。。。也是他说的delft是结构主义学派（参见《现代建筑：一部批判的历史》第6章《世界建筑与反思性实践》）=。= 只是针对那个年代。。。 TUD当然什么都有啦~(*^__^*) 嘻嘻…… 一大系3000人啊~

看图说话吧~直观！ 学校超小的说~不过对于30-40人（两个年级总共）的研究团队而言，已经足够了~想国内的很多大学的建筑系平均下来，人均面积未必比这里大啊。。。  外观 Since 2000, the Berlage Institute is housed in the former Spaarbank (Savings Bank) building, designed by architect J.J.P. Oud (1954).   上面是采光天窗，阳光都透到地板上，温暖十分 著名的Berlage图书馆 十分MINI~但与建筑有关的什么都有   这个电视机是用来看以前的大师讲座的  模型工作室 很难想象那些令人惊叹的模型都是从这间小小的工作室里出来的。。。   城市设计、建筑设计、城市规划都是这里研究的项目 By the way 每年有的两个项目导师都会带着participants一起出去实地考察 后天，Cracas那组就要去Venezuela了。。。希望他们一路平安啊~  小厨房（Coffee Bar）~里面有冰箱、微波炉什么的 大家中午饭大多都在这里解决的 可以喝免费的咖啡哦~~

师兄们，小弟现在申请进行时，对BERLAGE也一直有所耳闻并且很向往。现在主攻方向是TUD，但不是B的原因很简单，语言要求过于变态，单项的口语要7分。 不过近日听说BERLAGE对语言卡的并不严，想问问各位在荷兰尤其在B的师兄师姐们，语言情况到底如何？ 麻烦了，谢谢先 |

Miss不介意俺插嘴吧，，，哈哈 今年暑假power开过展，直到9.2结束，在R'dam的Kunsthal（Rem的代表作之一）。现在网站上还能看到展览的简介，大致为Berlage近两年的研究成果。 http://www.iabr.nl/page/Home 下图为当时展馆的布景，他们做的关于A'dam的Mobility Scenario模型。

继续 Michiel Riedijk 的讲座 The Form of the Emptiness: Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision  Michiel Riedijk (左) 很多人可能不认识他也不知道他们的事务所 但绝对认识他的作品 Michiel Riedijk is a partner in the Rotterdam-based office Neutelings Riedijk Architects. He is presently Professor of Architecture at the Delft University of Technology. He regularly lectures and teaches internationally. 下面是已建成的作品：    下面是竞赛竞标作品：    下面在在建项目：  其实他所在的事务所Neutelings Riedijk Architects很厉害的啊~~是在鹿特丹除了OMA,MVRDV之外的的又一牛所。。。 昨天主要是在介绍他的新作Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, Hilversum, the Netherlands, 1999-2006 The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision in Hilversum, the Netherlands was completed in 2006 by Neutelings Riedijk Architects to house and display the national Dutch radio and television archives. It is horizontally split into two sections. The first section, located underground, contains the archival vaults. The second section rises above the ground to accommodate a multimedia museum. The gap bridging these two sections forms the building’s public spaces. The facade, depicting famous images from Dutch television, is constructed from colored relief glass and composed by graphic designer Jaap Drupsteen.   这个媒体中心就在VPRO前面，上次去VPRO的时候在那里喝了下午茶。。就在那个水池边上。。。  从VPRO的屋顶看过去~  内部：  如果这个建筑有个标题，就是这次Lecture的标题The Form of the Emptiness。 首先，这个建筑是荷兰的媒体中心，其作用一是存放过去几十年间的珍贵的图片、影音资料；二是向企业或个人提供浏览这些资料的地方；三是一个多媒体博物馆；四是办公中心。 Michiel将这四个部分结合起来，形成四个体量~然后讲这四个体量组合在一个54米的正方体里，体量占据了正方体里的空间，而里面所得的“空”的部分，就是这个建筑所在。。。这很像老子的那段话“。。。当其无，有室之用。” 整个建筑分上下两部分，一部分是地下17米深的资料库和在其对面的资料浏览空间，如图：左边是资料浏览空间，右边是资料库。Michiel讲把资料库放地下的原因主要是因为储存这些资料所需要的温度和湿度，而地下，是最便宜的储存地。。。  另一部分是地上部分，右边是办公中心，左边是多媒体博物馆。地上地下都采用了梯形递减+长方体=中部“空”间，两部分以地平线为切割面，以中心点为中心轴旋转了90度。见下图：  接下来是表皮，表皮是荷兰著名的设计师设计的，该设计师设计了荷兰护照等著名的玩意儿。。。不记得名字了。。。 表皮实际上是诸多著名图片在PS里高斯模糊以后得到的色彩加上PS里浮雕效果做出人形，形成了像教堂里的彩色玻璃，那种Flash的效果，正如媒体的感觉。。。  另外这个建筑的结构也很复杂，但没有图片来表达。。。就忽略了吧>_<//
