掌门前来助阵真荣幸之至. 久不相见,近况如何? 用空到sheffield一聚. 不能说sheffield 的M.A.不好,少本国学生因为在欧洲,M.A.不是很有用,建筑师用Diploma, 学者专家用M.Phil/ PHD. |

 非常感谢掌门和TKF，呵呵，我还是没搞明白，不过也差不多了，你们觉得念3年的MA 还是比较实用是吧？有什么好的建议可以直接说呀，又不用负什么责任，我因为对那里的情况确实不了解，所以希望同专业的人可以多些真正有意义的指导：）写写 |

个人觉得M.Phil, M.Arch, Diploma都好于MA |

I said again, diploma is just 2 years. after 2 year, you will graduate and get the dip.Arch and go out of the school. and then you can submit a thesis to earn the M.Arch with in 9 months. Of course, it is up to you. you can give up the M.Arch degree and only get the dip.arch degree. I think you should consider what you want and what you need. To study and do the design, Diploma program is the best. To do the research, M.phil and PHD would be better. M.A. can study some knowlegde in the field of architecture, such as environment science. |

TKF,你的意思是不是Diploma更偏实际一点，而M.Arch 则偏理论？ For example:You want to study design. Study the idea, skill and concept and other things,so you choose the Diploma,if want to do some research,M.phil and PHD would be better,but how are about the M.Arch? 另：盼望着你从feeling的角度谈谈这些。 多谢！ |

If you want to be an architect in UK, you must obtain the RIBA part 3 first. the cost ( including fee and living cost) may be about 15,000 pounds per year. |

Sheffield is the only school to get a '5' in both of the last two RAE's, and over the last fifteen years we now have the most consistent record of excellence in research of any school in the country.It is also at the head of the architecture pack internationally. The Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) occurs every five years. All Departments in all Universities are invited to submit evidence of research excellence. This evidence is in the form of 'outputs' (i.e. books, articles, designs, conference papers, etc) and also in terms of factors such as number of PhD students, Research Income and Research Activity. The evidence is then considered by a panel, and ratings are given. To get a '5' indicates that the research from the School is of an internationally cognised standard. |

there is the dead-line of application in sheffield. you can check it. I don't know anyone in the department of landscape. PS is very important. you can also refer the topic in this website. in my opinion, you should give your background, what is you now and how about the future. give the idea about your major. |
