一点我个人的理解,
skin针对的是怎样manipulate内外之间的关系, 尽管翻译成表皮, 但这个概念不偏内也不偏外, 很中性; surface就很偏外了, visual exterior, 偏视觉少建构的味道; envelope的概念要更大, 常说building envelope, 而且不象前两个词, 这个当下更多是三唯的, 包括常说的seamless envelope. envelope更接近于穿衣服的概念, 穿衣服不仅是为了掩盖, 也是为了暴露.

或者咱们也可以来说说相应的反义词.
我觉得,
skin-----frame/framework
surface-----thing/substance
envelope-----padding
