Born on May 29, 1926. He studied at the old San Carlos Academy of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) (1942-1947). He had a scholarship of the French government and worked in Le Corbusier shop (1947-1948). Since the 1950's, he has developed a non-stop professional activity, first in urbanism, low-cost housing complexes, and later in the large public and private buildings.
He has carried out the following works: Embassy of Mexico building in Brasilia, INFONAVIT building, El Colegio de México buildings, Rufino Tamayo Museum, National Pedagogy University buildings, Chichen-Itza Site Museum, Nafinsa Computer Center, Tabasco State Library, Villahermosa Government Administrative Center, Federal Justice Palace, Tajín Site Museum, Fondo de Cultura Económica building, National Music Conservatory building, Mexican Hall in the British Museum, Embassy of Mexico building in Belize, Arcos Bosques Corporate building. Remodeling of the National Auditorium and El Colegio Nacional buildings.
He is a professor emeritus of the National Architecture Academy, an honorary member of the American Institute of Architects, active member of the Academy of Arts, and a member of the International Architecture Academy.
He received the 1982 National Sciences and Arts Award, the Great Latin American Award of the Architecture Bi-annual Conference in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1989. He has received twice the Great Award of the International Architecture Academy in the Bi-annual Conferences of Sophia, Bulgaria, in 1989 and 1994. In 1996, he presented the exhibition Assemblies and Excavations, the work of Teodoro González de León 1968-1996 at Rufino Tamayo Museum to show his architectural and painting works.
