Sorry for not updating my note for such a long time. I am currently busy on move to a new house because my original place is too far away. And the new place have no telephone line shit, therefore I could only update my note here in school. Well I have already got some physical ideas about RMIT after about 2 weeks course. First, about some advantages here. The course schedule is really flexible. All of our seminar, discussions, film screening are at afternoon. So recently I got up at 9 or 10 am in the morning. So lazy. The atmosphere is really friendly. Shane and Nigel seem to be really easygoing professors. Shane used to have a small company. One of my classmates had worked there before, but now he is doing his doctor degree, the studio is temporary shut down. Nigel has a studio too; I have seen one of his studio’s works. A very very small project. A house expansion, but pretty good. Until now our discussions about the research is still in the free-talking stages. But I feel so difficult to involve in the discussion with my current English level although there are only 4 students and two teachers, which means you have many opportunities to express yourself. The problem is that once I am thinking about what I am going to say, I cannot hear what they are talking about. Once I am ready to say, they change their topics. So I think the most important thing for studying overseas is offcourse definitely English. ( bull shit words but from the bottom of my heart). The rest is the course is short. So it is comparably cheap. If you are lucky, you could get scholarship. (You could apply scholarship since it is a research course. To course work master course, you do not have any opportunity)
Disadvantages. Maybe to those who want to learn a lot of things from daily courses, it is not a good place. Actually you do not have any course here, only a research topic. The rest things you have to do by yourself. The professor will talk to you at least twice a week. But because our research is still not deeply carried out, I cannot say how much they will involve in your research. The studio is really small so it would be difficult to make lots of friends. I always find myself hanging around the compass lonely because I could not find my classmates, especially when 2 of them are deeply involved in teaching undergraduate courses.
Still have many things want to say, but sorry no time now. We will have a trip to our investigating towns from Sunday to Tuesday. Two remote small towns with about 500 population. A good opportunity to see some inland area of Australia for me. So see u later
